Biography

Stan Porter first attended MJC in 1993 and then again in 2000. This education formed the foundation of his academic career before attaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Education (with honors) from Missouri State University, and a Masters degree in English (with distinction) from CSU Stanislaus in 2012.

Stan has taught at MJC since 2013 in addition to his full-time position with the Merritt Writing Program at UC Merced. The courses he has taught include ENG 101, ENG 103, ENG 50, ENG 49, ENG 45. He teaches online primarily, but has been known to teach on campus and at off-site locations as needed.

Stan enjoys teaching online and hybrid courses, as well as finding new ways to pave a path to success for his students. Some of these methods include taking classes in online design and teaching to make classes more enjoyable and interactive.
