Erick Peterson Ph.D.
Biography
I graduated from San Diego State University earning both a BA and MA in economics. I then went to the University of California, Irvine where I earned my Ph.D. in economics. My research focuses on environmental economics and coastal resource management. I am an affiliated researcher with the Center for Surf Research at San Diego State University, a cutting edge program that focuses on issues involving surfing, tourism, and sustainability. I am also an active member of the American Economic Association (AEA), the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (AERE), and the Economic Science Association (ESA). I truly believe that learning to 'think like an economist' can help individuals improve their standard of living through a better understanding of why people behave the way they do.
In my free time I enjoy surfing, playing soccer, golfing, backpacking, and fishing.
