Biography
I grew up on a ranch/dairy in the "Cowboy Capital" of Oakdale, California. After nine years of art training and study, I attended MJC at the age of 17, where I was a student of the noted watercolorist Dan Petersen. After receiving my AA Degree in Art, I transferred to CSU Stanislaus, where I earned my degrees in Fine Art and English, culminating my education with graduate studies in Art and Education. I taught English and Photojournalism at Oakdale High School and later was employed in Sylvan Union School District where I taught Art. While engaged in a 20-year career as a designer, digital artist, and professional photographer in several studios, I furthered my education in professional photography and digital imaging in Southern California and in the Bay Area and with Adobe. I returned to MJC in 2017 to teach Computer Graphics. In addition to teaching, I enjoy art and photography and singing in the opera and other community groups, as well as dancing, reading, traveling, baseball, and my family.
