Brian Sanders is the Dean for the Science, Mathematics, and Engineering Division at MJC. He is responsible for scheduling, hiring, evaluating, budgeting, and trouble-shooting for the division, consisting of approximately 100 full- and part-time employees. In addition, he is Acting Director of the Great Valley Museum of Natural History and serves as the Enrollment Management Administrator for MJC.
Biography
Brian has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematical Sciences from the University of California at Santa Barbara and a Master of Arts degree in Mathematics from the University of Oregon. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership at UC Davis. He served for thirteen years as a Professor of Mathematics at MJC after spending a year as a 'freeway flier' teaching at MJC, Skyline College (San Bruno), and College of Notre Dame (Belmont).
In his spare time, Brian enjoys playing guitar, woodworking, gardening, playing softball, coaching girls softball, and making others feel good about their golf games.
Brian, his wife, and three children live in Modesto, and enjoy travelling to visit family and go camping throughout the West whenever possible.
