Lisa Riggs is the A.D.N. Program Director. She oversees day-to-day operations of the A.D.N. program to insure that the program goals and BRN accreditation are met. Lisa joined the college in 1994. She taught in first and fourth semesters of the nursing program. In 2000 she became the Assistant Director of the Nursing Program. Lisa chaired the Nursing Curriculum Committee and the Advising Committee. She developed a Nursing Guidance Class (Nurse 115) to assist articulating students and an orientation for new part-time faculty. In fall 2009, Lisa became the A.D.N. Program Director. She continues to teach Nurse 115 and part time in the fourth semester. She exhibits nursing leadership in her role as director overseeing faculty assignments, student enrollment, and participates in hospital consortium meetings to generate funding for the A.D.N. program.
Lisa developed flex workshops on leadership and test building for A.D.N. faculty, authored a Foundation Grant for an IV simulator, assisted in development of distance education between MJC and Columbia College, participated in the Helen Fuld Grant between MJC and CSU, Stanislaus and developed a nursing program video for outreach. In 2003, Lisa was the recipent of MJC's first annual Presidential Distinguised Faculty Award. Lisa is the representative for nursing in the Allied Health Council and on the college’s Academic Senate. She has been the project manager for the Chancellor’s Office California Community College Enrollment Growth Grants since 2005 and is a member of the GOLD committee (grants committee).
