Biography

Biography

I was born and raised in San Jose, and have a strong background in education, being raised a learning/teaching-centric family, and understands its value in a person’s life.  My father Gus, who was a professor at San Jose State University for 66 years (71 in higher education), always said to me “get your education son, because no one can ever take that away from you.”

I have a solid track record of setting goals and achieving them.  As a college student at San Jose State University, I balanced full-time course work while breaking records, winning awards and earning a college scholarship in the first sales position he ever held selling Cutco Cutlery—ultimately earning the title of district manager by the time I reached age 21.

I earned a B.S. in Commercial Recreation Administration while serving as a personal trainer to competitive body builders and running a successful District Office for Vector Marketing Corporation.  During that time, I became interested in helping clients with their injuries, which ultimately lead me to Pre-Med school.  While in school full time, I volunteered in a physical therapy office and the emergency room at San Jose Medical, and ultimately determined Chiropractic to be my calling.

I earned my Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2000 from Palmer College Chiropractic West and received the nationally recognized “Who’s Who” award for my outstanding contributions to the profession and school as a student, and also served as President of the Sports Council.  In 2001, I launched InMotion Chiropractic, and pioneered mobile chiropractic care in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I am an internationally recognized instructor of the Kinesio Taping Method, certifying hundreds of medical professionals over the 19 years, and have had the honor of teaching at prestigious locations such as Stanford University and the Olympic Training Center.  Chiropractic & Osteopathic Clinical DVD by Dr. Lease

In 2010, I was elected to the San Jose/Evergreen Community College District Board of Trustees and have been a transformational leader in the Community College System and on the Board.  I was re-elected in 2014 and 2018, and I am currently serving my second term as the Board President.  My passion is to ensure that every child in the community has the same educational opportunities he did growing up in San Jose?.

In 2015, while practicing, teaching, raising a family and serving on the Board of Trustees, I decided to obtain my Master’s in Human Anatomy and Physiology instruction, and graduated in 2017 with honors from New York Chiropractic College.  This ultimately led me to Modesto Junior College to teach AP50 and ANAT-125.

I wish you the best of success all your educational endeavors.
