My Background:

I was born and raised in Lodi, attending Lodi High and San Joaquin Delta College.  I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and started my electronics career as a Digital Watch Design engineer in the Bay Area.  After two years designing electronic watch and clock modules, I started my own Silicon Valley electronics company, designing and manufacturing integrated circuit test boards and doing contract assembly for other companies’ products.

After seven years in the Bay Area, we decided to move back to the Central Valley here in Modesto, changing the business product line and structure to product development of custom electronic sensors, controls, and interfaces.  After 82 products and 25 years, the business went part-time as I began teaching full-time at MJC on 01/01/01.

Other Vocations:

My first business was mowing lawns for two dollars each when I was ten years old.  I have also been a janitor, farm worker, production grinder, ski resort maintenance helper, apprentice plant electrician, VW mechanic and parts vendor, electronics technician, Design Engineer, Manufacturing Manager for a San Jose semiconductor test facility, and corporate President.

I Am:

A follower of Jesus Christ                         A husband, father of three fine young gentlemen, and grandfather

A teacher                                                  An entrepreneur/product designer/engineer

An NRA-rated Expert Marksman             An amateur musician (fingerstyle guitar picker)

A fixer of anything that used to move.
