Biography
DAVID DOW is a graduate of Modesto Junior College with an Associate Of Arts degree in music and a former Instructional Aide in the MJC Music Department. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in music composition from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a Master of Arts degree in music composition from San Jose State University. He has also studied computer music at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Mr. Dow has been a composer, programmer and consultant for Activision Software, Inc. in Mountain View, CA and Audiolight Music Software, Inc. in Los Gatos, CA. He was the composer for the Atari 520-1040ST computer demo and was the sound-synthesizer consultant for the Apple IIgs National Sales Training Convention in Cupertino, CA. Mr. Dow has been a music instructor at DeAnza College, Cupertino, CA, Chabot College, Hayward, CA, California State University Stanislaus Turlock, CA and the University of the Pacific, Stockton,CA. He is currently teaching piano, recording and electronic music at MJC and teaching music privately. In his recording studio, Aurora Music Productions (www.auroramusicproductions.com), he produces music for theater, dance and video soundtracks as well as radio and television commercials. Mr. Dow has performed music professionally as a keyboard player and vocalist for more than thirty years with artists like Bill Champlin (Chicago), Tom Coster (Santana), Mick Gillette (Tower Of Power), Pete Escovedo, Clark Terry, James Moody, John Faddis and many more. He is a prolific composer with eighty-five compositions in many different styles.
